Automatic Pool Cleaners
A well-kept and sparkling clean swimming pool is an asset to the value of any home or property. There are numerous routines that must be adhered to if you are going to manually take care of your pool and the equipment needed to run it. One area that can be eliminated to a degree is investing in an automatic pool cleaner. There are many different brands and styles to choose from however, in the long run, it will save you lots of time. Once you choose the type of cleaner you want and become familiar with its operation you will find your swimming pool will be clean and crystal blue.
A few of the differences in automatic pool cleaners are Pressure side, Suction side, and Robotic. The pressure side pool cleaner is simply a unit that works through a water pressure pump. The water pressure comes from the main pool pump or booster pump. The pressure forces small pieces of dirt and debris into a self contained bag. This is more like a vacuum cleaner with one major limitation it cannot pick up larger pieces of debris. For a small area and not a lot of dust and blown debris this would probably be fine. Suction Side pool cleaner is just that, a suction cleaner that is attached to the pools suction plumbing system. The filter bag must be cleaned frequently in order to maintain the pool and keep the suction motion cleaning. Robotic Pool cleaners are powerful and have an internal motor that is plugged into an electrical outlet. This type of cleaner uses its own pump and filter system which keeps the skimmer clear when the filter is clogged. These systems not only vacuum the floor and walls of the pool but some models are also designed to scrub the sides including the tile line. This cuts down on your manual scrubbing maintenance of the side of the pool and the tiles below the water line. Water circulation is also increased due to the pulling action of the pump inside of the vacuum. This is a more expensive way to go but definitely a worthwhile one. There are a dozen or so different brands including, the Aquabot, Watertech, Dolphin and Smartpool just to name a few. Investment is up to you. Pool maintenance is very important and should not take away from the enjoyment it was meant to represent.
